This Architectural drawing is Section of multiple span and single span. Span is the distance between two intermediate supports for a structure, e.g. a beam or a bridge. A span can be closed by a solid beam or by a rope. The first kind is used for bridges, the second one for power lines, overhead telecommunication lines, some type of antennas or for aerial tramways. Single Span Beams are beams supported at two points only. Continuous Span Beams are beams supported at three or more points along their length. b) If the spans are not equal, the largest span is not greater that twice the smallest adjacent span. A Multi-Span frame is consisting of more than one span across the width of the building. Multi-gable buildings and single-gable buildings which have the interior columns are examples.
